Example 1

Emerson Community School - Principal's Corner

Dear Emerson Family,

February brings us to a time to reflect upon the countless contributions that Black people have made to the development of our country and the world.  The movie “Hidden Figures” illustrated that point and it is why we felt it prudent that our third through fifth graders see it and hopefully become inspired! It is our hope that all of our children are inspired to achieve greatness in whatever endeavor they choose to participate. They stand on the shoulders of giants!

Seeing that this winter season can bring us some unfavorable weather, make sure your children are dressed appropriately every day! In case of any forecasted extreme weather, remember to check the district website or the local news stations for school closings or delayed opening information.  In the case of a delayed opening, students are NOTto report to school before 9:45 am.

As we continue to sharpen our academic focus in the weeks and months ahead, we need your help.  Now is the time that we are counting on you, our parents, to make sure your children are completing their assignments, and doing what they need to do in order to be successful. I urge you to keep the lines of communication open, between home and school.

Lastly, please remember to update the main office anytime there is a change in telephone number and/or address.  There is nothing more frightening than the school not being able to contact you, the parent, due to incorrect information. Remember to check the calendar for the upcoming activities that we have planned for this month!  As always, thank you for your continued support!

Until next time,
