Dear Parents and Guardians:
Let’s celebrate “Black History Month” so please save the date! You are invited to Plainfield Public Schools district celebration of Black History Month on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Plainfield High School.All the schools in the district will be performing – including our students. In addition, there will be community vendors and cultural food tasting from the Caribbean, Africa and the US. Show time for student performances will start promptly at 5:00 PM, followed by dinner in the Cafeteria. Please come out to show cultural heritage pride and celebrate significant contributions in our history. We look forward to seeing you at this evening celebration.
Please note that Parent Teacher Conferences will be held February 14-16 and school will be closed at 12:30 PM for an early dismissalso teachers can meet with parents from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Evening parent teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. School will also be closed on Monday, February 20, 2017 to celebrate President’s Day.
Now that we are at the midway point the countdown of the clock continues in preparation for the upcoming standardized tests. In order to accomplish improved student growth and performance in Literacy and Math we will continually review strategies for helping your child succeed on the PARCC test. I know you want to do everything possible to support your child academically. Your efforts combined with the teacher’s will help to ensure that all students perform proficiently in Literacy and Mathematics.
Please see the school calendar on the reverse for many important additional dates and activities. We look forward to seeing you at the next Maxson School PTO meeting on February 21, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the library.
