Student Services Support

The advisory period provides students with tools and skills that help them to make the vertical transition and balance both academics and talent. Students are taught organizational and study skills, provided additional opportunities to complete assignments and increase academic achievement, and strengthen areas of talent. Students should expect a rigorous academic curriculum requiring additional demand on time, personal organization, and commitment. In its second year, PAAAS will service students in grades 7, 8 and 9. By September of 2013-2014 PAAAS will be servicing students from grades 7 through 12. Its environment is uniquely designed for students that are talented in the visual and performing arts and those that are seeking a rigorous and challenging curriculum in a college preparatory environment. The courses that are offered are based on nationally recognized research-based curriculum.

The curriculum is standards based and is aligned to the national and state requirements and benchmarked for scientific, technological, and mathematical literacy. The process for admission is by application and audition.

The Plainfield Academy for the Arts and Advanced Studies will recognize, value, and strengthen student individuality in academics and artistic areas of interest. Our faculty is committed to working with students on an individualized basis to stimulate and develop their intellect, artistry and creativity. Upon graduating from PAAAS students will be prepared for future matriculation and success in colleges, universities, art instructions and conservatories.
