K-12 Student Registration

*** All Registrations are initiated online using Genesis ***
To register for Kindergarten a child must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2024.
To register for 1st Grade a child must be 6 years old on or before October 1, 2024.

You will be asked to submit information about your student during the pre-registration process. At the end of the pre-registration process, you will be allowed to schedule an appointment to complete the registration in person, including submission of any forms and documents you did not upload. Appointments are optional and in most instances the registration may be completed online.

If you wish to transfer your child out of the Plainfield Public Schools, please contact your child's school.

The online registration process will take approximately 30 minutes. Please do not begin the registration process until you have the following documents ready to upload; child's birth certificate or passport, student physical less than 1 year old, immunizations, and (5) proof of residency. Students transferring from another NJ School District must provide an (A-41) transfer card. Transcripts for high school students, report cards, and test scores should be uploaded.

PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS AS THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED. ACCOUNT NUMBERS ON FINANCIAL RECORDS SHOULD BE BLACKED OUT.

All questions must be answered. If the don't apply to your child, you must choose no or n/a.
Parents/Guardians cannot be listed as an emergency contact.

Please make sure the email address and phone number that you wish to be contacted on are used when completing the registration.

***During the registration process, a Residency Officer may visit your home to verify residency information. The purpose of this visit is to confirm that students attending our school district reside within the designated boundaries and are eligible for enrollment. Please be assured that this is a standard procedure and is in no way a reflection of any concerns about your residency.
