PLAINFIELD, NJ – December 4, 2023 – The Plainfield Public School District proudly announces that Cameron E. Cox, Chief Financial Officer/Board Secretary, has been appointed as a Fund Commissioner on the Metropolitan Health Insurance Fund (Metro), a vital organization serving larger public entities and school districts in New Jersey, this includes Essex, Hudson, Union, Passaic, and Middlesex Counties.

Metro, with a robust $70 million annual budget and an impressive $8.2 million surplus, plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive health coverage for 13 New Jersey public entities. The fund contracts with industry leaders Aetna for medical coverage, Express Scripts for pharmacy services, and Delta Dental of NJ for dental care.

Cameron E. Cox brings a wealth of financial expertise to his new role as a Fund Commissioner, having demonstrated exemplary leadership and strategic financial management during his tenure with the Plainfield Public School District. His extensive experience and commitment to fiscal responsibility align seamlessly with the mission of Metro, ensuring the delivery of quality health coverage to public entities and school districts in the region.

Superintendent of Schools Rashon K. Hasan, Ed.
