PLAINFIELD, NJ – January 29, 2024 – The Plainfield Public School District proudly announces its participation in the prominent New Jersey Association of School Administrators Techspo 2024 Conference, held in Atlantic City. This event brought together educational leaders and innovators from across the state to share insights and advancements in technology-driven education.

A highlight of the conference was the engaging presentation by Plainfield's renowned trio: Rashon K. Hasan, Ed. S., Superintendent of Schools; N. Christopher Payne, Chief Information Technology Officer; and Jean-Marie Gordon, Ed. D., Chief of Instruction and Programs. The dynamic presentation, titled "Leveling Up Education: Unleashing the Potential Through eSports at Plainfield High School," captivated the audience with its groundbreaking approach to integrating eSports into the educational curriculum.

The Plainfield Public School District is proud to showcase its strategic partnership with PureTek, a leading technology solutions provider. Together, they are on a mission to transform education through innovative entertainment technology solutions. The collaboration is powered by a dedicated and forward-thinking team committed to redefining the learning experience for students.

Superintendent Rashon K. Hasan highlighted the importance of staying ahead in educational trends. "In a rapidly evolving world, it's crucial for schools to embrace these new approaches. eSports provides a unique avenue to engage students and prepare them for the challenges of the future. We thank PureTek for the partnership in this exciting project."

N. Christopher “Chris” Payne, the Chief Information Technology Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the potential impact of eSports on education. "Our vision is to harness the power of eSports to inspire students, enhance critical thinking skills, and foster teamwork. We believe this initiative will contribute to the holistic development of our students in the digital age."

Jean-Marie Gordon, Ed. D., Chief of Instruction and Programs, emphasized the educational benefits of the partnership with PureTek. Plainfield Board of Education President, Commissioner Hanae M. The District’s Executive Leadership Team, various Board of Education Commissioners, and dedicated staff members were in attendance to witness and support the groundbreaking showcase.

The Plainfield Public School District remains committed to pushing the boundaries of education and ensuring that students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the 21st century. The district’s new eSports arena is slated for completion in May 2024.
