PLAINFIELD, NJ – February 16, 2024 – Early this week, Plainfield High School’s Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) inducted students at its inaugural Initiation and Induction Ceremony at Plainfield High School.  

Jennifer Bogar-Richarson, a JAG specialist, expressed her excitement for the students participating in the St. Louis competition. She mentioned that the students will be able to meet and interact with students from all over the country, including the Virgin Islands. She added, "This year, the national conference is in its third year since its inception, and we are proud to be the first school in New Jersey to participate. We are also the only school from New Jersey participating the conference. This year, we are achieving a lot of firsts." 

“We remain committed to ensuring that our students have every option needed for their success,” stated Rashon K. Hasan, Ed. S., Superintendent of Schools.  

Jobs for America's Graduates is a youth program that is nationally recognized for its innovative approach to helping young people succeed in school and their careers. The program operates in over 1,500 high schools, alternative schools, community colleges, and middle schools across the United States. 

"Today, we celebrate the induction ceremony of our newest members of Jobs for America’s Graduates," said Plainfield High School Principal, Shadin Belal, Ed. D. "Each one of you represents a beacon of hope and potential, poised to make a positive impact in our communities and beyond. Today, we affirm our unwavering support for your journey ahead."  

During the presentation of the certificates and pinning, Bogar-Richardson expressed excitement to see the students' smiles and excitement.  

"By providing mentorship, skills training, job placement assistance, and ongoing support, JAG is paving the way for a brighter future for all of you. Not only does this benefit you as individuals, but it is also an investment in the strength, vitality, and prosperity of our workforce, economy, and society," Principal Belal explained.  

The following students were inducted: Elias Antonio Silva, Angelette Briley, Rodrigo Calderon, Megan Francis, Omar Garcia Rivera, Christian Gomez Lopez, Aileen Guevara-Polanco, Christopher Haynes, Jesiah Holmes, Esaias Jackson, Jared Knight, Cesar Mercedes, Ashli Perez Zuleta, Ashley Prudoth-Rodriguez, Nick Rivas, Alex Rodriguez Pintor, Anthony Sartillo Saucero, Samisha Torres Sanabria, and Ala-Meen Watkins. 

“Congratulations to the newest members of Jobs for America’s Graduates, our first cohort at Plainfield High School. May your futures be filled with endless opportunities,” said Principal Belal.
