PLAINFIELD, NJ – October 31, 2024 – On Tuesday, October 29, Plainfield Public Schools participated in the New Jersey School Boards Association CUBE 2024 Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Continuing to share best practices with educational leaders and board members from districts across the country, Plainfield Public Schools intends to inspire positive change and improvement within educational systems nationwide.

Titled, "Moving Plainfield Public Schools Forward: Using Strategic Priorities to Lead Turnaround and Change," the presentation was led by Superintendent Rashon K. Hasan, Ed. S., alongside Plainfield Board of Education President Hanae M. Wyatt. The duo set the stage for a discussion on advancing educational excellence through strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.

Superintendent Hasan elaborated on the district's 4-Step Model, which includes engaging stakeholders, developing district priorities, aligning goals and initiatives, and implementing a strategic plan. He emphasized how Plainfield Public Schools successfully achieved its objectives through effective collaboration, the establishment of new partnerships, and strengthened relationships within the community.

“By focusing on strategic priorities, we have created a framework for sustainable improvement that empowers our students and staff alike,” stated Superintendent Hasan. "In Plainfield, we are actively seeking effective methods to enhance our school system and provide the necessary resources that our students need and desire. We have found our strategy effective by directly communicating with our students and asking them how our initiatives have benefited them. From there, we modify our approach by adding or removing what has proven helpful.

The presentation further highlighted the integral role of the Plainfield Board of Education in this transformative process. Board President Wyatt discussed the importance of the 12-month agenda planning that commissioners adhere to, ensuring that their focus remains on the policies and committees that drive success.

“Our board's commitment to strategic planning and governance is important to the district's progress,” said President Wyatt. “By fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, we can better serve our students and community.”

The CUBE 2024 Annual Conference provided an invaluable platform for educational leaders to exchange ideas, share successful strategies, and discuss the future of education in urban districts. Plainfield Public Schools' participation reinforces its dedication to enhancing its own district and contributing to the broader educational landscape.
