Plainfield Public Schools Introduces Apple Vision Pro to Revolutionize CTE Pathways
PLAINFIELD, NJ – March 4, 2025 – At the Plainfield Board of Education Business Meeting on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Apple representatives introduced the Apple Vision Pro to the Board commissioners, Plainfield Public Schools’ executive leadership team, and the public.
Apple Vision Pro is a spatial computer designed to blend digital content with the physical world, offering dynamic and immersive learning experiences beyond the limits of a traditional classroom.
This technology has the potential to enhance student engagement in Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs and other academic disciplines, introducing new ways to interact with educational content.
The Apple Vision Pro is Apple’s first-ever spatial computing headset that allows users to experience immersive learning environments, transforming the traditional educational experience. The presentation demonstrated how the Apple Vision Pro works and the many benefits it offers to students, educators, and the community. The device’s capabilities will allow students to explore new opportunities for engagement in Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, among other academic areas.
Plainfield Public Schools has been an Apple district since 2018, and has the largest partnership with Apple in the North-East Corridor. It already utilizes various Apple products, including iMacs, MacBooks, and iPads, in classrooms. With the introduction of Apple Vision Pro, Plainfield will be the first district in its area to integrate this cutting-edge technology, providing students with access to immersive learning tools that will prepare them for the future workforce.
Superintendent Rashon K. Hasan, Ed. S. shared his excitement about this advancement: “We are always looking for innovative ways to provide our students with the best possible education, and the Apple Vision Pro is a significant leap forward in that mission. By integrating this immersive technology into our curriculum, we’re offering our students new opportunities to engage with content in a meaningful, hands-on way. We are breaking down traditional learning barriers and ensuring that our students are ready to succeed in an increasingly tech-driven world.”
Shaniesha C. Evans, Ed. D., Supervisor of Career & Technical Education, emphasized the transformative potential of the Apple Vision Pro for hands-on learning in CTE programs: “Nothing excites me more than seeing our students stay ahead of the curve, gaining real-world skills in a dynamic and interactive way. The Apple Vision Pro will allow us to enhance our CTE programs, offering industry-relevant experiences without the need for additional space or costly equipment. We’re empowering our students to take control of their learning and build skills that are essential for their futures.”
Chief of Information and Technology Officer Christopher Payne also shared his thoughts on this exciting new technology, “As we continue to integrate Apple products across the district, the Apple Vision Pro will take that integration to the next level. This immersive technology will redefine the way we think about digital learning and create new opportunities for our students. It’s an exciting time for Plainfield Public Schools, and we are proud to be at the forefront of these innovations."
