Plainfield Public Schools Students Earn New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy, Setting New Standards of Excellence
PLAINFIELD, NJ – April 9, 2025 – Plainfield Public Schools is celebrating a significant academic milestone with 52 students from Plainfield High School, Pinnacle Academy High School, and Plainfield Academy for the Advanced Arts earning the prestigious New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy. The honor, which recognizes students for proficiency in two languages, sets these students apart as they prepare for the next chapter in their academic and professional careers.
The Seal of Biliteracy is awarded to students who demonstrate the ability to communicate fluently in both English and a second language, a skill that is increasingly valuable in today’s global economy. These students’ accomplishments reflect their dedication to academic excellence and their ability to succeed in a bilingual environment.
Superintendent of Schools, Rashon K. Hasan, Ed. S., stated, “In a world that grows more interconnected by the day, the ability to communicate across languages is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. These students have shown us that through determination, passion, and academic excellence, they have developed a skill that will propel them to success—both in higher education and the global workforce.” He continued, “Today, we celebrate more than an academic achievement, we celebrate the future leaders, entrepreneurs, and global citizens they are destined to become.”
